Hey Victor, I was curious if you knew if Teddy Newton and Lou Romano were involved in designing this films characters at all? Awesome trailer. Thought the cooks were some hilarious caricatures.

I have to admit that when I first heard the plot was about a rat who cooks, I had wondered if you guys had lost your minds. But that little taste is hands down some of the most appealing, original, and heartwarming animation I've ever seen.

Hi Brian, I'm not sure who was responsible for the final character designs, though Teddy and Lou are both involved in the production and story. And of course, Lou is the voice of the lead human character, Linguini.

DannyB, the Japanese trailer is very different from the American trailer, which is linked in this post. Which do you prefer?

route and the Japanese go for the Emotional! Both Supurb ,I cant wait! PS-I love the rich enviroments :-)

I thought the Japanese one was soooo good and unlike any trailers that I see for animated films. So much heart packed into that little sequence.

But I do love La Vie en Rose in the american trailer!

Total trivia geek question, but is Lou Romano related to Ray Romano? He sounds just like him.

Also, any ideas on when we can see this trailer in glorious Quick Time HD?

Thanks!

Steve, as far as I know they are not directly related. I'm still waiting for that HD trailer myself!

The HD trailer is finally up! YAY!

That trailer is so awesome! Well, both, the American and the Japanese versions. I absolutely can't wait to see it!
Do you think that Pixar will send this new trailer out to the theaters (or when that might be)? so then we could start building it into our trailer packages! I'm a projectionist, and I would love to see this trailer on the theater screen everyday at work! :O)

This trailer will be in front of Meet The Robinsons, if you want to see it on the big screen.

Hi Victor,

looks like it's going to be an amazing film!

I have one picky crit :)

In the second shot of the trailer,
where the people sit by the table in
the restaurant, their silverware is
hovering over the table cloth :)

it looks like their shadow is misplaced.

just thought I'de let someone from pixar know :)

hehe...

Oh cool! Now I'm excited to go to work tonight! I'm building Meet the Robinson's, so I will definitely see the trailer again when I preview the movie! :O)
(floating silverware? hmm I will have to go back and see if I can find that, I didn't even notice)

Good eye, Oz. Such is the danger of releasing HD trailers...

Yeah, I also prefer the Japanese trailer, more intense.

The Japanese trailer is really touching! The animation in both trailers is amazing, as usual.... so vivid it's just unbelievable...

I just really hope the movie won't be too banal and will have some interesting twists in it. Of course I trust Brad Bird that I won't be disappointed with the plot.
